Piano Events For Students To Attend

   As you well know, it is important for you and your piano students to have the opportunity to see and hear other pianists making music.
   Whether the performer is a child doing his best to create beauty or whether it is a world-renowned pianist accompanied by a great orchestra, the result is the same.
   Both you and your children will be encouraged to press on in piano studies.

TEACHERS' PIANO RECITALS

Most teachers provide opportunities for pupils to perform in very non-threatening, informal settings. Find out when your teacher plans these recitals and make sure that you and your children attend.

THE KIWANIS MUSIC FESTIVAL

   Calgary is fortunate to have this first class music festival each spring. Thousands of young people take part in piano competitions and many other music and speaking events.

   Encourage your piano students to enter this festival. Even though it's a bit scary for them, the challenge of performing in public and the helps given by the adjudicators are a huge boost to piano progress.

   Although three of the evening concerts listed below have a ticket price, the other competitions throughout the two weeks of the Festival are free to the public.

The Calgary Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild is pleased to support the Kiwanis Music Festival with its Registered Technician Members supplying all the many piano tunings for the event.
